Why do investors always say No first ?

Whenever an entrepreneur pitches to an investor , the default response is always No.
No, this is not because we are negative !
This is to see how well he is able to handle objections , and the degree of conviction he has in his idea .
We want to see how well he is able to argue his case, and how persistent he is, because he is going to encounter many No’s during his entrepreneurial journey. Think of this as practice – it’s good training !

  1. Nicely expressed sir. When I wanted to start my first business at the age of 16 I asked for investment money from Father, He said no. It took 3 months to convince him to lend me 500 rs. But if you are sure about the road map in your head and then on paper, with preparation to cover all loopholes, even answer NO is a good lead.
