Part 17 of 17 in Rethinking Childhood: An Indian Parent’s Guide
- Get a public library card and use it weekly, even if it’s just for twenty minutes. Libraries are treasure troves of unexpected knowledge, and the act of exploring them can spark curiosity.
- Revive one traditional game in a communal space. Games are powerful tools for learning—they teach strategy, patience, and the joy of play.
- Maintain a “real notebook” that never goes to school. This is a space for unfiltered thoughts and ideas, free from the pressure of evaluation.
- Cancel one class and leave it cancelled. Use that time to explore something new, something unplanned. It’s in these gaps that creativity often flourishes.
- Have a conversation with another parent or peer who is also tired of the race. Collaborate to create a small learning community, a pod, where exploration is encouraged.
