Many people wonder why we don’t have more IVF clinics, given the fact that we were one of India’s first private IVF clinics , and have such a high success rate . Because we have so much experience and expertise , it would seem very logical that we would run a chain of IVF clinics , so that patients would not need to come to us , and we could go to where the patients are. Yes, this seems very logical, but the reality is that we take pride in treating each of our patients ourselves, which is why we don’t even have any assistants in our clinic . All the treatment is provided personally by Dr. Anjali, by me and by Dr. Sai, our full-time embryologist, because we don’t want to take any chances with your treatment. Every patient is a VIP , and every egg, sperm and embryo is treated with as much loving care as possible . We don’t think it’d be possible to provide such a high quality of care if we started diluting our attention, either by hiring assistants or by starting up more clinics.
Now it makes a lot of financial sense for us to have more clinics , because this will help us to increase our income , and that is what most other IVF specialists do, because the more the clinics you have, the more the patients you can treat , and the more the money you can make. However, we made a very conscious decision that our focus should be on maximising our success rates , and making sure that every patient gets the best possible medical care, so they get the best possible chance of getting pregnant . We don’t think it’s possible to do this by hiring other doctors , who don’t have the experience , expertise or motivation or burning desire which we have. This is why we continue focusing in our clinic on every individual patient , so that we can provide high tech with high touch , and this explains our high success rates.
It would be very easy for us to start another centre , and many doctors have requested us to do so, in partnership with them, but the trouble is that patients would then expect to find Dr Malpani would be treating them at this centre , and since Dr Malpani cannot be in two places at one time , we don’t want to give the wrong impression and let patients down . We definitely don’t want to compromise our reputation or reduce our success rates by doing this just in order to make more money, and this is why we will continue providing all our services in a single clinic. IVF is a service profession, and if we cannot provide the service properly then we really don’t want to be doing it at all. We don’t want to dilute our brand or damage our reputation , which we have earned over a lifetime of hard work.
