Whether I should keep trying with my own eggs, what protocols should I consider, whether in the limit donor eggs or surrogacy would help my situation. I am 39 with unexplained secondary infertility, I have good AMH and AFC, and have had 3 IVF cycles. We have had 6 grade A embryos transferred (3 were blastocysts), and only a faint positive that faded once. Otherwise no implantation. Statistically it is most likely I have age related infertility (I have a 7 y/o son who was spontaneously conceived after 2 month off the pill). If that is the case, it eases my mind that donor eggs would be an option. But if there is another underlying issue, how do I detect it? Would surrogacy help? How long should I keep trying IVF? What if I am ‘one of those people’ who just can’t get pregnant with IVF? My doctor even suggested that with unexplained infertility there is not much benefit to doing a high number of IVF cycles. That worries me. I am very anxious, troubled, and grieving, unsure how to build the family I want so badly. I thank you in advance for your help and kindness. I have detailed my case in a cover letter and included all the medical records I have. Thank you again and best wishes.
